The word CONFIDENCE is one commonly used amongst humans from all walks of life, especially when it’s about getting results either based on a task at hand or a journey ahead. Interestingly, there are some words in the word confidence worth taking note of which we will discuss briefly one after the other. The first on the list is, FENCE.
A fence in it’s simplest form is a shield that gives you some level of privacy and security against intruders. Every man who exhibits confidence as a lifestyle has a form of assurance in one thing or the other. He knows there’s a certain level of protection around him that gives him no reason to fear. The fence can be in a divine being, knowledge, position, background, relationships, experience and many more.
When a man has any of these as his backup, he finds it difficult to be afraid when faced with oppositions as he knows there’s something guiding him that makes him untouchable. The reason a teacher will stand confidently before his students irrespective of their age is based on the fence of knowledge, that’s also why a man on a force uniform can stop a moving trailer with the wave of his hand confidently because he’s operating within the fence of position.
In the same vein, in the pursuit of our goals, we need some strong fences from which we can operate that makes us dare to look into the eyes of every opposition along the way. When this fence(s) is/are not in place, a man is bound to surrender when opposition arise.
From within what fence(s) are you operating? The knowledge you have about the strength of your FENCE(S) will determine your confidence level.
