In the last couple of posts, we realized how important FOCUS is to our goals and how we have to stay focused until we become the focus. But someone might be asking, how do I get my focus away from the distractions? The answer is RACK FOCUSING.
In the filmmaking world, rack focusing is one of the most beautiful techniques a cinematographer uses INTENTIONALLY. What then does it mean to rack focus? It simply means consciously making efforts to put your main subject in focus or changing your focus from one subject to another during the course of storytelling.
When there are a lot of things contending with your main subject for your attention, the best thing to do is to consciously rack your focus so your subject can be in FOCUS.
There are reasons why you will need to rack your focus in the pursuit of your goals as you write the story of your life. Some of these reasons and their importance will be discussed in subsequent posts.
If your goal is not in focus, it’s time to RACK your FOCUS.
